The Jack London District of Oakland is home to a growing number of breweries, including Federation, Independent, Original Pattern and soon, Oakland United Beerworks (opening this summer at 262 2nd Street). Forged by a common sense of community and, let’s face it, a love of tasty beer, the 4 breweries have founded the collaborative Jack London Brewing District (JLBD), with an eye toward joint block parties, walking tours, and of course, collaboration brews. Their inaugural creation, “Jack London Jam,” is a delicious sour framboise made using fresh raspberries and available for a limited time at any of the breweries. Stay tuned for future JLBD releases, sure to be distinctive, delectable tributes to the District in which we live, work and play!
