OUR CORE BEERS
NEW OAKLAND GLOW
Pilsner 4.8% ABV
Our core line-up Pilsner is a classic and comforting German-style beer. Utilizing premium ingredients to create a crisp, biscuity light beer with a subtle hopped finish.
EAST BAY NIGHTS
Black Lager 5.2% ABV
2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) (R) Silver Medal winning beer in the German Dark Lager category. This is our tribute to a classic German Schwarzbier. Don’t let the color of this beer fool you, it’s light on the palate and full of flavor. Notes of coffee and roast with enough German noble hops to round out the malt profile.
DRINK BEER, SLAY DRAGON
West Coast IPA 6.5% ABV
Whether you’re looking for some liquid courage or toasting a personal success, this West Coast IPA is here for you. It’s citrus-y, fruit-y, and pine-y with subtle sweetness and perfect bitterness. With Andrew’s spirit in mind, whatever your own “Dragon” is, just go out there and slay!
Centennial, Mosaic, and Columbus hops.
BAY SHORE FOG
Hazy IPA 6.5% ABV
Our core Hazy IPA is generously hopped with Comet, Citra, Chinook, and Talus giving it rich aromas of lychee and other tropical fruits in addition to a balanced dose of grapefruit and citrus peel.
New Releases
IRON AND STEEL
Imperial Stout 8% ABV
In the 1800s, carriage making was a booming industry in Oakland, and most wheelwrights doubled as blacksmiths—hand-forging the iron rims that gave the wheels their strength and durability. By 1878, Oakland was home to 25 carriage makers, including Grand Central Carriage Works, located on 12th Street between Harrison and Alice—just up the road from where our brewery stands today.
GRIZZLY PEAK
Pale Ale 5.9% ABV
Our Grizzly Peak Pale Ale is back. Building on our original collaboration with John Jones and Travis Stephens of the Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE)—whose award-winning Pale Ale earned “Best in Show” in the 2023 CA Homebrewer Competition—this release pays homage to the spirit of that beer while charting its own path. While the name and inspiration remain rooted in their legacy, this is a new interpretation, featuring a refreshed recipe built around classic Mosaic and Comet hops. A nod to where it started, and a reflection of where it is today.
If you grew up in Oakland, you know the drive. The winding road up the hill, the eucalyptus in the air, and then—suddenly—the view. The Bay stretching wide, the Golden Gate standing proud, San Francisco shimmering in the distance. Grizzly Peak isn’t just a lookout; it’s a rite of passage. First dates, late-night talks, out-of-town visitors you had to impress—it’s where we go to take it all in.
Grizzly Peak Pale Ale is our tribute to that iconic vista point and the perspective it gives you. Bright, balanced, and refreshingly crisp, this pale ale is built for clear skies and long views. It’s easygoing but full of character—just like the city below.
Crack one open, head for higher ground (or at least the patio), and toast to the view that reminds us why we call this place home.
LUCKY DOG (FT. RHODA)
Hazy IPA 6.5% ABV
Meet Rhoda, a 4½-year-old pitbull mastiff mix adopted from the Berkeley animal shelter in 2024. She’s a people-loving cuddle expert who actually enjoys vet visits, scenic car rides, and striking diva poses on park benches. She hydrates in style with gravy water and pupsicles (we should all be so lucky!), claims almost all of the bed, and proudly calls fellow pup, Linus, her honey bunny. Rhoda’s loving human won the chance for her to be the next Lucky Dog with the winning bid at the 20th Anniversary Celebration for Friends of Oakland Animal Services (FOAS). We all agree — she’s one very lucky and very special dog!
Citra, HBC 630, Krush hops.
OAKSTADT
Helles Bock 6.5% ABV
We were proud to welcome Steve Davidson and Dirk Manders—winners of the Best Of Show title at the 2025 California Homebrew Competition—into our brewhouse for this collaboration. Their local take on a beloved German style, brewed predominantly with California-grown malt from Admiral Maltings, nods to the Dimond District’s history as a late-19th and early-20th century home for Oakland’s German immigrant community.
ABOUT OAKLAND UNITED BEERWORKS
Our Story
Founded in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery, we became the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s.
our team
Oakland is and always has been a beer town; a place where hard-working people would gather together to enjoy locally brewed, fresh beer.
OUB brewery
In 2017, following the sale of our building on Linden Street to a new developer, we moved our operations to the waterfront Jack London District and rebranded as Oakland United Beerworks.
