Black Lager 4.7% ABV
2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) (R) Silver Medal winning beer in the German Dark Lager category. This is our tribute to a classic German Schwarzbier. New Releases
LUCKY DOG (FT. DAISY)
Hazy IPA 7% ABV
Daisy came into Chelsea’s life unexpectedly in 2020 and has been her loyal shadow ever since. Now 12, this blue nose pitty has traded her younger days of running, playing, and swimming for sunny naps and her favorite spot on the couch. She communicates through piglet-like grunts, legendary pit bull side-eye, and a puppy-dog pout that’s impossible to resist. More than anything, Daisy loves her people deeply—and we’re honored to celebrate a dog so special to someone so special to the OUB family.
Citra, Mosaic, Strata hops.
LIMITLESS
Bavarian Hefeweizen 4.5% ABV
From daring firsts to record-breaking flights, Oakland, California, has played a pivotal role in the legacy of women in aviation.
This beer honors pioneers like Amelia Earhart, who, in 1935, became the first person to fly solo across the Pacific from Honolulu to Oakland. Earhart also departed from Oakland to begin both attempts at world circumnavigation. It celebrates Bessie Coleman, the first African-American pilot, who soared over Oakland dropping advertising leaflets in the 1920s. We raise a glass to Louise Thaden, who claimed the women’s endurance record from Oakland Municipal Airport, and Ruth Nichols, who set a distance record flying from Oakland to Kentucky in 1931. And we honor Lee Ya-Ching, the first woman to get a civil flying license in China, who trained right here in Oakland.
Raise a glass to the women who dared to defy gravity.
SCRUM-PTIOUS GATOR
West Coast IPA 6.5% ABV
Andrew Ritter loved: family, friends, beer, and rugby. He channeled his unbridled enthusiasm into brewing for Oakland United Beerworks and helping start San Francisco State University’s Gator rugby team. He would laugh deeply and toast, “Drink beer, slay dragon!” When he died at 31 from ALS, we lost a dear son, brother, friend, brewer, and teammate. Andrew, we love and miss you! Each year, we brew a beer to raise funds for the ALS Therapy Development Institute. By buying and enjoying this beer you further these efforts, honor Andrew, and bring us all closer to a cure. Your support has helped make OUB a top contributor to Ales for ALS. Thank you!
HBC 638, Citra, Talus CRYO hops.
LUCKY DOG (ft. Rickey)
Hazy IPA 6% ABV
Meet Rickey: a one-of-a-kind “tripawd” with three legs, a wiggly butt, and an endless zest for life. After being rescued from an illegal pig snare on the Big Island of Hawaii, Rickey lost his front right leg—but not his spark. He made his way to the Berkeley Humane Society and quickly found his forever home with Allyson and Thomas. For Thomas, who experienced a spinal cord injury 13 years ago, Rickey’s determination and adaptability have been a source of inspiration—a testament to the idea that joy isn’t limited by circumstance.
As a regular at Oakland United, Rickey won hearts with his playful energy, squirrel-chasing skills, and sleepy little trademark- his tongue slipping through the gap in his teeth as he quietly dozed off.
Here’s to Rickey—resilient, goofy, and totally unstoppable.
Mosaic, Talus, Chinook hops.
ABOUT OAKLAND UNITED BEERWORKS
Our Story
Founded in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery, we became the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s.
our team
Oakland is and always has been a beer town; a place where hard-working people would gather together to enjoy locally brewed, fresh beer.
OUB brewery
In 2017, following the sale of our building on Linden Street to a new developer, we moved our operations to the waterfront Jack London District and rebranded as Oakland United Beerworks.
