Sales Manager

Oakland United Beerworks is located in the Jack London District of Oakland. We are a new brewery looking for a driven, high-energy individual to join our team in the role of Sales Manager for Northern California and to develop in this market. The job requires supporting the Sales team to reach set goals by coaching and mentoring as well as training on company sales tactics and enforcing policies. You must have a strong desire to join a small, start-up company on the ground floor and have a vision as to how to shape an effective sales force.


The Sales Manager position for Northern California will focus on the development and growth of all on-premise draught and off-premise can sales in all Northern California sales areas, and at the same time drive the positive image of the brand through thoughtful collaborations and relationship building with our key accounts. Responsibilities include helping to hire and develop the skills of Sales Representatives, implementing and enforcing best practices, collaborating with the Marketing department and supporting each sales person out in the field day-to-day. The position will involve some travel, mostly in the greater Bay Area.


  • Manage, mentor and build our on-sale division in Northern California
  • Work with Distributors and sales staff to create labor cost efficiencies within the sales team
  • Collaborate with all on-premise and off-premise sales reps to develop and maintain relationships with accounts
  • Plan and execute all sales objectives
  • Coordinate with Production Team to ensure sufficient inventory to meet all projected sales targets
  • Take lead role in the process of hiring, training and development of new sales reps
  • Work closely with the Events Manager and the Marketing team to execute all planned special events
  • Promote and manage all presell lists, seasonal releases and special releases
  • Order tracking, account management and assist in collection of outstanding A/R
  • Team up with sales reps to identify and service key target accounts
  • Monitor sales reports, track progress and provide weekly sales reports to management
