Made in Oakland

OUR CORE BEERS

NEW OAKLAND GLOW

Pilsner 4.8% ABV

Our core line-up Pilsner is a classic and comforting German-style beer. Utilizing premium ingredients to create a crisp, biscuity light beer with a subtle hopped finish.

EAST BAY NIGHTS

Black Lager 5.2% ABV

2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) (R) Silver Medal winning beer in the German Dark Lager category. This is our tribute to a classic German Schwarzbier. Don’t let the color of this beer fool you, it’s light on the palate and full of flavor. Notes of coffee and roast with enough German noble hops to round out the malt profile.

DRINK BEER, SLAY DRAGON

West Coast IPA 6.5% ABV

Whether you’re looking for some liquid courage or toasting a personal success, this West Coast IPA is here for you. It’s citrus-y, fruit-y, and pine-y with subtle sweetness and perfect bitterness. With Andrew’s spirit in mind, whatever your own “Dragon” is, just go out there and slay!

Centennial, Mosaic, and Columbus hops.

BAY SHORE FOG

Hazy IPA 6.5% ABV

Our core Hazy IPA is generously hopped with Comet, Citra, Chinook, and Talus giving it rich aromas of lychee and other tropical fruits in addition to a balanced dose of grapefruit and citrus peel.

New Releases

Hop Candi

West Coast IPA 7% ABV

Brewed with Ekuanot, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, this IPA is a nod to our roots. Hop Candi is one of the first beers we brewed back in our Linden Street Brewery days—a true classic reborn. This West Coast IPA is a celebration of hops in their most fun and whimsical form, bursting with vibrant aromatics and bold flavors that make every sip feel like a treat. Hop Candi is a beer brewed with history, crafted with passion, and made for those who love a little hop-fueled joy in their glass.

SLEEPING CAR GIANTS

Baltic Porter 7.5% ABV

Pullman Porters, the railroad porters employed by the Pullman Palace Car Company, were a conduit of new information and ideas from the wider world to their communities thanks to their extensive travels. America’s first all-Black union, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, established their West Coast headquarters in Oakland. Importantly, the formation of this union helped advance the broader Civil Rights Movement in the United States. In both their communities and the country at large, the porters were the real giants, paving the way for lasting change.

PROPER HOOLIGAN

Pub Ale 4.1% ABV

Brewed exclusively with 100% Admiral Maltings.

A timeless classic, this English Mild Ale strikes the perfect balance between rich malt character and effortless drinkability. Our Proper Hooligan delivers layers of toasty caramel malt, a touch of nutty complexity, and a gentle floral hop presence—all in a smooth, easy-drinking pint.

Whether you’re cheering on your favorite soccer team or kicking back at a backyard BBQ, this sessionable ale is built for long nights, good company, and great conversation.

Enjoy responsibly. Be a Proper Hooligan!

LIMITLESS

Bavarian Hefeweizen 5.3% ABV

From daring firsts to record-breaking flights, Oakland, California, has played a pivotal role in the legacy of women in aviation.

This beer honors pioneers like Amelia Earhart, who, in 1935, became the first person to fly solo across the Pacific from Honolulu to Oakland. Earhart also departed from Oakland to begin both attempts at world circumnavigation. It celebrates Bessie Coleman, the first African-American pilot, who soared over Oakland dropping advertising leaflets in the 1920s. We raise a glass to Louise Thaden, who claimed the women’s endurance record from Oakland Municipal Airport, and Ruth Nichols, who set a distance record flying from Oakland to Kentucky in 1931. And we honor Lee Ya-Ching, the first woman to get a civil flying license in China, who trained right here in Oakland.

Raise a glass to the women who dared to defy gravity.

ABOUT OAKLAND UNITED BEERWORKS

Founded in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery, we became the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s.

Oakland is and always has been a beer town; a place where hard-working people would gather together to enjoy locally brewed, fresh beer.

In 2017, following the sale of our building on Linden Street to a new developer, we moved our operations to the waterfront Jack London District and rebranded as Oakland United Beerworks.
