OUR CORE BEERS
NEW OAKLAND GLOW
Pilsner 4.8% ABV
Our core line-up Pilsner is a classic and comforting German-style beer. Utilizing premium ingredients to create a crisp, biscuity light beer with a subtle hopped finish.
EAST BAY NIGHTS
Black Lager 5.2% ABV
2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) (R) Silver Medal winning beer in the German Dark Lager category. This is our tribute to a classic German Schwarzbier. Don’t let the color of this beer fool you, it’s light on the palate and full of flavor. Notes of coffee and roast with enough German noble hops to round out the malt profile.
DRINK BEER, SLAY DRAGON
West Coast IPA 6.5% ABV
Whether you’re looking for some liquid courage or toasting a personal success, this West Coast IPA is here for you. It’s citrus-y, fruit-y, and pine-y with subtle sweetness and perfect bitterness. With Andrew’s spirit in mind, whatever your own “Dragon” is, just go out there and slay!
Centennial, Mosaic, and Columbus hops.
BAY SHORE FOG
Hazy IPA 6.5% ABV
Our core Hazy IPA is generously hopped with Comet, Citra, Chinook, and Talus giving it rich aromas of lychee and other tropical fruits in addition to a balanced dose of grapefruit and citrus peel.
New Releases
Hop Water (Talus)
0.0% ABV
Brewed with 100% Talus hops, this hop-infused sparkling water is aromatic with notes of grapefruit, tropical fruits, rose, sage, and pine. Light in body and effervescent.
Town Cats (ft. Pepper)
West Coast IPA 6.5% ABV
We partnered with Oakland’s own Cat Town to find a fine feline friend to grace the label of our inaugural Town Cats West Coast IPA. The winner of the grand prize at their summer fundraising auction was Pepper! As described by her loving humans, “Pepper is living her best life! Once a scrappy street dweller, she’s now a pampered house cat. She spends her dotage on plush cushions, snacking on treats, and getting ear scritches. Her favorite activities are sunbathing and purring while her adoring humans brush her. She is proof that the Cat Town formula works! Love + Time = Magic.”
Aromas of pine and eucalyptus with resinous undertones and lemon-lime, lemongrass, and black pepper notes.
Galaxy, Mosaic, and Vista hops.
Lucky Dog (ft. Scottie)
Hazy IPA 6.5% ABV
We’re honoring a Lucky Dog from our community who recently crossed the rainbow bridge, Scottie. As described by his loving human, “Scottie was a willful, handsome teenager when we met 11 years ago. In his early years, he was a formidable hunter- deer, geese, squirrels, mice, and even lizards were all fair game. In his later years, he roamed Jack London Square as though he were mayor, bringing smiles to all who met him. Always, he was my little ball of cuteness, light, and comic relief. He is sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.”
Aromas of nectarine, peach, papaya, and pineapple with cantaloupe, bread dough, and honey notes.
Citra, Azacca, and Chinook hops.
Sleeping Car Giants
Baltic Porter 9.0% ABV
Pullman Porters, the railroad porters employed by the Pullman Palace Car Company, were a conduit of new information and ideas from the wider world to their communities thanks to their extensive travels. America’s first all-Black union, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, established their West Coast headquarters in Oakland. Importantly, the formation of this union helped advance the broader Civil Rights Movement.
Aromas of brown sugar, chocolate with toffee, coffee, mildly bitter.
ABOUT OAKLAND UNITED BEERWORKS
Our Story
Founded in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery, we became the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s.
our team
Oakland is and always has been a beer town; a place where hard-working people would gather together to enjoy locally brewed, fresh beer.
OUB brewery
In 2017, following the sale of our building on Linden Street to a new developer, we moved our operations to the waterfront Jack London District and rebranded as Oakland United Beerworks.
