DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to welcome back a perennial favorite today: Sleeping Car Giants Baltic Porter! \n  \nWith a label paying homage to the Pullman Porters\, the giant who formed the union\, The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters\, and brought Oakland’s community to life\, this beer is coming out just in time for winter. Pullman Porters\, the railroad porters employed by the Pullman Palace Car Company\, were a conduit of new information and ideas from the wider world to their communities thanks to their extensive travels. America’s first all-Black union\, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters\, established their West Coast headquarters in Oakland. Importantly\, the formation of this union helped advance the broader Civil Rights Movement. \n  \nAromas of brown sugar\, chocolate with toffee\, coffee and mildly bitter (9.0% ABV). \n  \nAvailable now in 4-packs and on draft in our Taproom and our online store!

DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, November 8th\, we’re unveiling our inaugural Town Cats West Coast IPA (ft. Pepper)! \nWe partnered with Oakland’s own Cat Town to find a fine feline friend to grace the label of our inaugural Town Cats West Coast IPA. The winner of the grand prize at their summer fundraising auction was Pepper! As described by her loving humans\, “Pepper is living her best life! Once a scrappy street dweller\, she’s now a pampered house cat. She spends her dotage on plush cushions\, snacking on treats\, and getting ear scritches. Her favorite activities are sunbathing and purring while her adoring humans brush her. She is proof that the Cat Town formula works!  Love + Time = Magic.” \nCat Town was established to save elderly\, stressed\, sick\, and injured shelter cats facing euthanasia. In focusing on these overlooked animals\, they’ve helped reduce the euthanasia rate at Oakland Animal Services\, Oakland’s municipal shelter\, by more than 70% since 2011. Scottie)! \nWe’re honoring a Lucky Dog from our community who recently crossed the rainbow bridge\, Scottie. As described by his loving human\, “Scottie was a willful\, handsome teenager when we met 11 years ago. In his early years\, he was a formidable hunter- deer\, geese\, squirrels\, mice\, and even lizards were all fair game. In his later years\, he roamed Jack London Square as though he were mayor\, bringing smiles to all who met him. Always\, he was my little ball of cuteness\, light\, and comic relief.
