DESCRIPTION:Releasing Friday\, 2/21\, we are honored to share Forty-Eight Tears\, a beer with deep meaning and a powerful story. \n\n\nThis collaboration with Doug Walker\, 2024 CA Homebrew Competition Best in Show winner\, is a tribute to his dear friend\, Jeff Mee—known as “48”—who passed in 2014. A devoted husband\, father\, and grandfather\, Jeff was a quiet man with a profound impact on those around him. \n\n\n“The strongest beer I brew for the strongest man I knew.” \n\n\nDoug spent nearly a year perfecting this German Chocolate Imperial Stout\, inspired by Jeff’s favorite dessert. Brewed with cocoa nibs\, toasted coconut\, pecans\, and vanilla bean\, it delivers rich layers of chocolate\, nutty sweetness\, and smooth vanilla\, honoring Jeff’s love for German chocolate cake. \n\n\nEarly recipe versions incorporated meaningful numbers—his passing date\, his nickname\, and more—but as the beer evolved\, so did the balance\, resulting in a beer that’s as thoughtful as it is bold. \n\n\nJoin us in raising a glass to friendship\, remembrance\, and the lasting power of a great beer.
