Ol’ Brick Bitter is an Extra Special Bitter (ESB) that is the third in our Linden Street series. Our take on an English classic, this easy drinking pub ale was one of our best known during the Linden Street days and is the first to be resurrected after years of lying dormant as a recipe in our books. ESB is a style known for its unique interplay between the malt and the bitterness imparted by the hops. Smooth, dry and delicious!
Appearance: Light, pale orange/straw. Thick white foamy head.
Aroma: Light malt sweetness with a nice floral hop character and a hint of pear on the finish.
Flavor: Light body punctuated with significant malt overtones. Very classic English malt profile with West Coast hop characteristics. Prominent pear and other subtle fruit flavors finish with a light, lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: A lower than usual carb level, as is traditional for this English style. Very clean finish.
Hops: Comet, Super Saazer
Malt Bill: Crisp Marris Otter, Crisp Extra Pale Maris Otter, Grain Millers Flaked Oats, Wyermann Carared
